A year really does fly by!
It was just last July that Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale were still married, and now the two's divorce is already finalized. In the August issue of Harper's Bazaar, the songstress speaks out about the reality of their split.

She opened up, alluding to the affair her ex had with the nanny:
"It was the beginning of hell. Like six, seven, eight months of torture, trying to figure out this big secret."
And what followed for the artist wasn't easier:
"It was so insane because not only did my family break up, but then my kids are taken away like half the time, so that was really like, ‘What?! What did I do?' My dreams were shattered. All I wanted my whole life was to have babies, be married, like what my parents have."
As you know, the former flames share custody of their three kids, Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo.
Gwen continued, referencing her split from fellow No Doubt band member Tony Kanal and the album that came from it:
"Then I remember thinking, ‘There's gotta be a reason for this.' Of course you go through the ‘Why me?' and feel sorry for yourself. But then I was like, ‘No, this happened to me already and I made something good out of it,' and that was Tragic Kingdom."
The momma of three reminisced on that heartbreak, adding:
"I was like, ‘What am I doing? This is, like, seven years of my life. Then the next chapter: I meet Gavin, right? And that was it. [My personal life] was my boyfriend and then my husband."
This time, her split led her to a relationship with fellow The Voice judge, Blake Shelton!
Gushing yet again about the country crooner, she revealed how they both got through their divorces:
"[Backstage on the set of The Voice] Blake was like, ‘Everybody, before we go out there, I want to let everyone know that by the time this airs, I will be divorced.'… it was like being handed this gift of a friend who was going through the exact same thing at the exact same time. And then everything flipped. It went from horrible to, like, hopeful and like, ‘Wow, God, you just don't know what's gonna happen next."
And now, as Gwen says in reference to her duet with her boyfriend, Go Ahead and Break My Heart, "I mean, I can't believe I'm number one on a country chart." LOLz!
While the ageless beauty has been open about her divorce, and since, her romance with Blake, there are some things she has to keep to herself.
For her, it's all for the sake of the kids:
"It's because I have children. As a famous person, you start to think, ‘I can't say all that because I'll embarrass them or hurt them in some way.' And especially now because they can see everything and hear everything. But I've done nothing I'm ashamed of… [breaks into laughter] Well, we all have a few things we're ashamed of."
