Snapchat Is Being Sued For Exposing Children To 'Sexually Offensive' Material! See What The Lawsuit Says!

Snapchat – it's not for everyone!

The popular photo sharing app was sent a class action lawsuit on Thursday for allegedly exposing minors to "sexually offensive" material!

According to the suit, which was filed by celeb attorney Mark Geragos on behalf of a 14-year-old boy and his mother in the Central District of California, the app's Snapchat Discover feature frequently suggests sexually explicit content without a proper warning.

The complaint specifically points out a BuzzFeed feature that was promoted on the app earlier this month, which was titled "23 Pictures That Are Too Real If You've Ever Had Sex With a Penis."

The article featured several popular Disney characters associated with NSFW sexual acts and innuendo (you know, BuzzFeed's usual bread and butter), which the lawsuit claims is a violation of the Communications Decency Act.

In the court documents published by The Hollywood Reporter, the complaint reads:

"[This is] an insidious pattern and practice of intentionally exposing minors to harmful, offensive, prurient and sexually offensive content, without warning minors or their parents that they would be exposed to such explicit content. Millions of parents in the United States today are unaware that Snapchat is curating and publishing this profoundly sexual and offensive content to their children."

Additional stories from media partners include headlines like "10 Things He Thinks When He Can't Make You Orgasm," "People Share Their Secret Rules for Sex" and "I Got High, Blown, and Robbed When I Was a Pizza Delivery Guy." All must reads we're sure — but not for children!

In response to the lawsuit, a spokesperson for Snapchat said:

"[We] haven't been served with a complaint in this lawsuit, but we are sorry if people were offended. Our Discover partners have editorial independence, which is something that we support."

So, basically the company is saying it's not their problem! LOLz!

To the mother who filed this lawsuit: we're sure your teenage son has seen a LOT worse on his phone than The Little Mermaid reacting to a penis joke — especially if he follows Kylie Jenner!
