There's no doubt Bryan Cranston is a great actor — he takes it to another level in his new upcoming flick The Inflitrator — but we would really like to see him play the role of a lifetime: Donald Trump!!
The former Malcolm In The Middle and Breaking Bad star is no stranger to playing real-life characters; he was nominated for an Oscar for playing the title blacklisted screenwriter in Trumbo and just played late President Lyndon B. Johnson in HBO's All The Way.
So when he went on Today this morning, host Carson Daly asked him a very simple question.
The host pondered which real-life person Cranston would most like to play next, and he immediately and definitively named Trump!! He said:
"I'd like to play Donald Trump at some point. He's huge. He's this Shakespearean character, this serio-tragic-comedic character. Who wouldn't want to take a bite out of that?"
Even better than saying he'd like to play Trump, though, Cranston put his talent where his mouth is and dropped an AH-Mazing little impression of the politician live on TV!!
"My metabolism actually changed like crazy this year. I have Hashimoto's disease. It's a thyroid disease, and it's now been two years since taking the medication for it, so for the VS show I didn't want to lose any more weight, I just want to have muscles in the right place, and if my butt can get a little perkier, then that's good."
