Lady GaGa might be having a rough time in her personal life, but it sounds she's taking a HUGE step forward in her film career!
Back in December, we were BEYOND excited when we learned that Beyoncé might be starring in Bradley Cooper's directorial debut — which just happens to be a remake of Judy Garland's hit remake of 1937's A Star Is Born.
Unfortunately, it didn't take long for Bradley to shut down those rumors, which we later learned was because he couldn't afford Jay Z's wife!

Well even though Cooper couldn't snag Bey, it seems the reports of the 30-year-old replacing the Single Ladies singer are true as Page Six reports GaGa has taken the role!
Though the American Sniper actor is a bit bummed he didn't get the Lemonade songstress — because duh, anyone would be — he was apparently very hands on while trying to recruit Lady!
One source even said:
"Bradley flew out to direct GaGa in the audition himself, and she knocked it out of the park. Then he personally took the tape to Warner Bros. to get approval."
Get it, GaGa!

As for the exact reason why the former Destiny's Child singer passed, well it's "because she wanted $8 million, plus all the perks"! Sadly, that just didn't work for the Hangover star as the movie's total budget was $40 million!
Interestingly enough, there have been quite a few big names thrown around for the project, including Clint Eastwood, Tom Cruise, Will Smith, Christian Bale, and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Though it's been a rocky road for A Star Is Born, it's back on track now and we couldn't be more excited that its starring Lady!
What do you think of GaGa replacing Beyoncé?
