Cher Lloyd is growing up, which means she's gifting us with a new, adult sound!
On Thursday, the X Factor UK alum dropped a fierce new single that seems to ditch her bubbly pop past! Her latest release, Activated, adopts a "no f*cks" attitude, and appears to move more towards R&B, featuring a thumping beat and a laid-back chorus.
The gorgeous gal's new track definitely gives us some serious club vibes!
In fact, the singer opened up to Rolling Stone about writing the mature number, saying:
"I think when we first started writing 'Activated' – in the very beginning stages – I had said that I wanted a song [reflecting] exactly how I feel. [It's] this feeling that I have of just wanting to run as fast as I possibly can and just move."
But, the 22-year-old was in no rush to drop her third album, admitting:
"I wasn't going to just record something and release sh*t for the sake of having a song out. I wanted to feel something when I heard [it], and I wanted to feel like I did when I first started, like when I used to sing in my bedroom when I was 15."
And she hopes her fans embrace her new sound, adding:
"My fans deserve something that's honest and comes from me. It's my new phase. Everything is about to change."
The response seems to be pretty somber as some of our culture's biggest influencers decide whether we should rally behind Drumpf in hopes he does better than expected... or fight against his administration with everything we have.
