Jennifer Aniston was at the Giffoni Film Festival in Italy over the weekend, being presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award for her work in television and film, but it turned out to be a notable trip thanks to one VERY inspiring moment!
The Friends actress was taking part in a Q&A with children and teens from all over the world, when one teen dropped a bomb of a question on her in front of the entire audience:
"I'd like to know if you ever had a moment in which you get up in the morning and you don't know who you are?"
Jennifer — who immediately got visibly emotional and had to try really hard to rein in her tears while answering, poured out her heart in response to the incredibly deep, important question, saying:
"There are not enough fingers and toes in this entire room to count how many times that moment has happened to me. We're all human beings at the end of the day, whether we're a waitress or a baker or a student or whatever we are, at the end of the day you kind of can hit walls and think I can't go any farther. Or this is too much. My heart can't take it or the pain is too great, or am I good enough? Will I survive?"
As she continued, Aniston got more and more emotional at the question, forcing herself to pause to compose herself (a translator relaying the star's words in Italian every few sentences helped, too).
"Know that your actors, your idols, your icons, whatever you call them, have all had that experience or that moment in their lives many, many times. There's nothing that separates us from you, because we all started at the same place. We all came out of nowhere. We were all born little innocent empty vessels. Don't punish yourself if you feel that. Go talk to people and seek help and always find something to inspire you."
