Well, that was quick!
On July 16, Genesis Davila beat out several ladies to win the title of Miss Florida USA 2017! Sadly, ten days after winning, the Puerto Rican-American beauty queen is being stripped of her title!

According to Grant Gravitt, executive producer of the Miss Florida USA pageant:
"We have a zero-tolerance policy on rules… Whether it's something major or minor, it's all about keeping an equal and level playing field. Unfortunately, our title holder sought an unfair competitive advantage, and that's just not acceptable in our system."
But what rule did she break?? Davila used professional hair and makeup artists in her private room, which is a no-no in the contest.
"We finally had substantial proof to link her and her vendors to her room on an evening which they were not allowed."
One of these "vendors" was documented on Davila's Instagram:
Since Genesis is no longer Miss Florida, the title will go to runner-up Miss Sunny Isles Beach USA Linette De Los Santos! The new queen said:
"I'm just excited to have this opportunity… I didn't think it was going to happen, especially like this."
However, don't think the OG winner is going to take this lying down! Her lawyer Mayra Joll said:
"She's still a queen… She's still Miss Florida. She's still Miss Florida USA. Justice is going to be served."
All's fair in love and war… and beauty pageants!
