On Tuesday, Anton Yelchin's parents, Viktor and Irina, officially filed their lawsuit seeking punitive damages for the wrongful death of their son.
As we previously reported, the late actor's parents were planning to sue Fiat Chrysler, ZF North America, and AutoNation because of a faulty e-stick, which they believe led Anton left in park and yet his Jeep Cherokee did roll back and crush him against his security gate.

And according to TMZ, legal docs say that the Star Trek Beyond star DID suffer before passing:
"Anton Yelchin was crushed and lingered alive for some time, trapped and suffocating until his death."
In today's emotional press conference, Viktor and Irina expressed their grief over their loss, with the 27-year-old's dad sharing through tears:
"In spite of our grief we decided to come here to prevent other families for the same tragedy. Anton was our only son and he was a remarkable human being very modest, very simple, very honest, generous, loving. It is wrong, it is against nature when the parents bury their own child."
Gary Dordick, the family's attorney, also explained:
"Anton was a wonderful human being, a very gifted actor and a loving son. Anton's untimely death was due to a defective 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee that had a defective electronic transmission shift. As a result of this defect, his vehicle had a roll away incident… We are seeking punitive damages because we believe Fiat, ZF North America knew that it was defective and they failed to take action to protect the families that trusted them. They put profits before safety. We intend to hold them accountable and intend to have jury."
As of now, there has been no word on how much they're seeking in this wrongful death lawsuit.
