Kyle Kennedy speaks out.
After a tumultuous few weeks — including that infamous and scary video of fiancé Egor Tarabasov getting physical with her on a Greek beach — Lindsay Lohan is speaking out.
The former Mean Girls star has a lot to say about her relationship with Tarabasov, and what she's endured with his temper and, unfortunately, violent outbursts.
The actress spoke to DailyMail.com about the incident on the Greek island of Mykonos, where Tarabasov grabbed her and physically restrained her in an effort to get his cell phone back — and it sure sounds like LiLo fully understands how unsettling that moment was.
"I realize now you can't stay in a relationship just for love. No woman can be hit and stay with that person if that person isn't prepared to say sorry."
And while Lohan was reluctant to discuss the particulars of that scary moment caught on camera, she did reveal more about another recent fight the couple had back in London, where she quite literally feared for her life:
"When we got home I went to bed and Egor went out. A few hours later he came back and when I woke up he was standing over me. He wasn't himself, he was being very aggressive and he attacked me. It's not the first time. That's the problem. But this time, someone saw. I didn't call anyone, I've dealt with enough police in LA. I just left the house and went to the Connaught [Hotel] for the night. I contacted my good friend [Israeli socialite] Hofit Golan who was in St Tropez. She said, 'Get on a plane, come and meet me,' so I did. I needed some time for myself. I've spent the past week fishing on my friend Marco Mavilla's yacht with his lovely family in Sardinia."
Lohan is still wearing the four-carat engagement ring Tarabasov gave her last September, because despite all this, she has still wanted to see if things can work with Egor, only recently realizing that no matter what she does, he may never change:
"I haven't taken it off, even after all this. The truth is, I wanted to make things work, but now I'm not sure that I can. I need closure. I genuinely fell in love with him but he broke my trust and made me feel unsafe. I know I'm not an angel but I've tried to fix things. It's down to him now. I had suggested we go for couples' counseling but there comes a time when I have to put myself first, my family, and also think about my career which I've worked so hard for. I also don't want to let my fans down by not being the strong woman I have become."
So true — at some point, you have to fish or cut bait, as the saying goes.
Obviously, this is a very emotional time for LiLo — and it's very emotional to bring things like that up to the surface — but we can only imagine the pain she's enduring from all of this.
We know she'll come out stronger in the long run.
But right now, we just hope she comes out safe, happy, and in a much better position after some scary, scary times.
