In a new interview with Rolling Stone, the musician opened up about ex Kehlani's suicide attempt earlier this year. The singer admitted on Instagram at the time that she "wanted to leave this earth" after a picture PND posted cause the internet to unleash its wrath on the R&B artist.
The Come And See Me performer had shared a shot holding the 21-year-old's hand, and captioned it:
"After all her shenanigans, still got the r&b singer back in my bed"
And now, the 23-year-old is apologizing for the sad situation, telling the mag:
"I regret how it went down. Big time I regret how it went down. I look into people's eyes and I know they think I'm a bad guy. There's a lot of details that people don't know."
The Canadian songsmith continued — in the third person — to explain he had a difficult year, and wish everyone well:
"I just hope people understand that was a year for him. And I hope everyone has a successful year and I hope that's in the past."
And even though PND helped pen Rihanna's successful smash Work, he's revealing that he's still sad:
"It was a blue year for me. I thought, 'Write a hit, you'll be rich and happy.' Meet one of the most beautiful girls in the world, one of the most talented and I'll be happy. All of that: I'm not happy."
We're glad PartyNextDoor is apologizing for starting a social media firestorm that seriously affected Kehlani, and we're thrilled that she seems happy and healthy now.
