In 1995, Phelps set the record for the fastest 100-meter butterfly swim for his age class (at ten years old) in the entire United States, so it shouldn't be a surprise as to how successful he is now.
But there was one ten-year-old better than Phelps that year, and it was Kris Humphries!!

He outperformed Phelps AND other future Olympians like Ryan Lochte by setting six different swimming records in his age class that year: the 50-meter freestyle, the 100-meter freestyle, the 50-meter butterfly, the 50-meter backstroke, the 50-meter breaststroke, AND the 200-meter individual medley.
