After keeping us on the edge of our seats the entire last week, and winning about 10,000 medals in the process, Katie Ledecky, Michael Phelps, and Simone Biles are getting their due — the cover of Sports Illustrated!
OK, so, it wasn't quite 10,000 medals, but between the three of them, Ledecky, Phelps, and Biles brought 14 Olympic medals to SI's photo shoot and turned in a truly star-studded cover shot (above)!!!
The trio was photographed by Simon Bruty, who opted to keep things simple, straightforward, and elegant for the athletic heroes — no gimmicks, just let the medals and the achievements lead the way!
Maybe the best part of the entire shoot, though, was the behind the scenes video that SI released, showing the three superstars interacting, having fun, and, oh yeah, arranging the medals around each others' necks!
Ch-ch-check out their REALLY cool 360-degree BTS vid from the photo shoot (below)!!!
So what does exec producer Selena Gomez think of all this controversy? It's pretty much what she was going for. She told the AP:
"We stayed very true to the book and that's initially what Jay Asher created, was a beautifully tragic, complicated yet suspenseful story, and I think that's what we wanted to do. We wanted to do it justice and, yeah, that's going to come no matter what. It's not an easy subject to talk about, but I'm very fortunate with how it's doing. I'm overwhelmed. I'm very proud of it."
Whatever your reaction to the show, it is getting a lot more people to talk about the problem of teen suicide.
