Per the report, Airbnb has stepped in to help Yeezy and Kim live in an unbelievable apartment for a few months duringNew York Fashion Week and the rapper's Life Of Pablo tour. Apparently the online renting company is keen to pick up $150K a month in rent in exchange for Kim's promotion on social media.
A source close to the situation explained:
"The plan would be for Kimye to live there for a few months for free, and Kim will post on social media about the apartment… Airbnb would pick up the tab for the rent."
Sounds like a sweet deal! Considering West's current NYC apartment is now smaller than "Kim's "closet," we think this will work out perfectly for the West family.
As for the rental properties in question, Kanye's co-manager Scooter Braun has sent his team to look at 10 Sullivan St. in Soho ($29 million), 35 North Moore St. ($29.9 million) and 471 Washington St. ($24.5 million). Staffers have also checked out sprawling downtown penthouses.
Check out a video of the glamorous 35 North Moore property (below)!
Dayum! What a gorgeous set up!
But wait! There's only one problem — many realtors don't want to rent to the pair since high end buyers might be put off by Airbnb:
"Not many of these sellers want to rent to Kimye, as having their names, and Airbnb, attached to such a luxury property won't help a sale. It isn't attractive to high-end buyers. Plus, Airbnb is only offering a little more than $150,000 for the entire stay, when most of these places rent for [more than] $100K a month."
Well, that makes sense.
Despite a few hiccups, an insider close to Kanye thinks the power couple are well on their way to securing a place:
"Scooter Braun has people looking at places . . . Kanye wants to use New York as the hub for his tour. They have been talking to Airbnb, and hope to decide on an apartment soon."
How exciting! We'll be interested to see how this all turns out.
