This is unimaginably tragic.
The team did release a statement on the matter, though (below):
She always looks good to us!
The actress fought feelings of uncertainty before and during the film shoot:
"The struggle is that I am doing a movie in a bikini eight months after having a baby and there is a level of insecurity and vanity that comes with that. You don't want to be the person in the magazines that they are saying ‘ugh, look at her' rather than ‘wow, look at her'."
"That's a shame because there shouldn't be that negative ‘ugh' after someone has a baby. Your body is so beautiful. You couldn't walk a Victoria's Secret runway but it's beautiful in a completely different and incredible way and I do wish I had the bravery to go out there and represent women as they actually look."
Nobody would say "ugh" to this girl, though!
We already saw her in a bikini while preggers and she still looked phenomenal!
Still, we understand feeling insecure is not just something you can shake off, no matter how you look.
As for her decision to film a movie in which she spends most of her onscreen time alone, Blake credited husband Ryan Reynolds for giving her the courage:
"Ryan doing Buried was such an encouragement for me to do this because he loved that experience of having an isolation film and also that experience that you have with the crew on a movie like that. You end up bonding so much more and I always wanted to find a movie like that because I knew how much that meant to him as a person and as an actor so that definitely influenced my decision to do this movie."
We're glad she took that leap to try and grow as an actor!
You're an inspiration, Blake!
