Health is yuge, people!
If you've been paying any attention to politics at the moment, you're totally aware that everyone seems to care WAY more about Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump's health than their reasonable and totally insane (respectively) political platforms.
While Hillary is doing damage control from everyone freaking out about her overheating incident and pneumonia diagnosis, Trump tried to take advantage of his opponent's situation on Wednesday by appearing on The Dr. Oz Show to talk about HIS health!
Other than Donald speaking in generalities and claiming his doctor, Dr. Harold Bornstein, M.D. said he would be the "healthiest individual ever elected", the former Celebrity Apprentice star hasn't revealed many specifics about his health. That's why it was pretty surprising when the 70-year-old reportedly shared the results of a recent physical performed by Bornstein with Dr. Oz on the talk show!
Though the episode doesn't air until later today, reports came in shortly after the episode's taping that the GOP candidate offered up the results as CNN reports the doctor told one of their specialists:
"Not knowing if we would see Mr. Trump's medical records, I planned to do a full review of systems with Mr. Trump."
The TV personality continued:
"I did that as planned when he sat down with me. He answered all my questions. We then discussed the need for transparency around both candidates' medical records, at which point he produced a summary letter from his physician based on last week's tests."
What makes this so surprising is that before the show, campaign aides for Donald had said he was NOT going to release medical records during the show. Of course, this was probably all just a stunt to drum up extra press to help take advantage of Clinton's sticky health situation!
But what does Trump reveal? Quite a lot…
1. He's got good cholesterol — because he's on medication for it
Audience members told CNN that during the show, Oz talked to the businessman about his cholesterol and was surprised by how low it was after being prescribed a medication called Statins. In fact, Trump's numbers were apparently so impressive that the TV host said only a young person would have levels that good.
2. He eats lots of fast food
Interestingly enough, another audience member told MSNBC's Jesse Rodriguez that the Republican admitted he loved fast food because "at least you know what they are putting in it." LOLz! What??
Apparently when he orders he makes sure no one says it's for him — because he's scared workers will tamper with it.
3. He's overweight
According to audience members, Trump himself said he was 6' 3" and 236 lbs — and needs to lose 15-20 of that.
4. If he played golf, he would be the best
Trump was reported as saying that he wishes he had more time to play golf and barely does anymore — but that he was good enough at it to be in the PGA.
But according to audience members he said he doesn't get much exercise at all, apart from gesticulating wildly during speeches.
Ivanka Trump also appeared on the show to talk briefly about fighting the Zika virus and her dad's child care policies. The presidential hopeful allegedly also took questions from the audience and even talked about his stamina a bit in a brief clip the show already released online!
What are your thoughts on personal health being a MAJOR focus during the election?
