Wow, we can't imagine this was an easy conversation to have.
As we reported, Brad Pitt is currently under investigation by the LAPD and the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services after a September 14 incident on a private plane in which he allegedly got verbally abusive and a bit physical with his kids.
The following Monday, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from her longtime love, listing September 15 as the date of separation. The 41-year-old actress is requesting full physical and half legal custody of the couple's six children.
Now we're hearing how the By The Sea star told the 52-year-old that she wanted to end their 12-year romance (two years married) just two days before doing so.

An insider close to Jolie told People:
"She sat down, talked to Brad and offered to file [for divorce] together. She said, 'This is what I'd like to do.' She explained everything. Angelina did what she felt she needed to do."
Sounds like her mind was pretty much made up!
A Pitt source said Angie's decision "wrecked" the Allied actor, who wanted to handle the split as quietly as possible for the sake of the kids:
"He was appealing to her to do this quietly — not to save the marriage but to consider the well-being of the children — and it was ignored. He is just wrecked by this."
The source added Pitt had been in counseling "to try to figure out how to make things better" for their children, and "begged [Angelina] to press pause" on the divorce proceedings in hopes of having time to prepare the kids:
"He was willing to do anything, change any habit, change any lifestyle, to do what had to be done to make this work. And by 'make this work,' that means doing what has to be done to make even a split one that is amicable and in the best interests of the children."
Sounds logical to us…
