Well, it looks like at least one part of this ongoing drama is no more.
According to law enforcement sources, it is highly unlikely that Brad Pitt will be prosecuted for an alleged assault against his son Maddox.
Of course, at the heart of the divorce contentions between Pitt and Angelina Jolie is the accusation that, among other things, Pitt got into a physical altercation with 15-year-old Maddox on a plane.
Now, though, sources tell TMZ that there is no way to definitively prove Brad's intent on inflicting physical harm on his son, despite the accusations, and that it's unlikely authorities will follow through on prosecuting him over the incident.
According to sources, Brad did make contact with Maddox somewhere in the teenager's shoulder area, but prosecutors are apparently skeptical that they can prove it was intentional.
More than that, the Division of Child & Family Services found no evidence of injuries on Maddox after the incident, and no one filed a police report immediately after it happened.
There may be a video floating around of the entire altercation, and depending on whether or not that sees the light of day, it could change things, but for now it appears as though this won't be seriously pursued.
That said, DCFS has a broad scope in their work, and can use the incident to talk to the kids, Brad, and Angelina about their overall living situation and parenting techniques — so perhaps something may soon come of that.
Regardless, it appears you can (probably) close the book on this one piece of the ongoing divorce saga.
