We've been huge Rachael Yamagatafans for years, so we're LOVING this cool collab from her! On Tuesday, the singer released the music video for her latest single Let Me Be Your Girl… and the visual stars none other than Allison Janney as a kooky clown dancing around a loft!
"In my heart of hearts I never thought it would actually happen."
But, that's not all that happened! The songstress also enlisted How I Met Your Mother's Josh Radnor to direct the creative clip!
It turns out, the musician asked the sitcom alum — who's actually a longtime friend — to work with her through an email, saying that they "might" be teaming up with the Mom star.
This sold Josh on the idea, because he admitted he's a HUGE fan of Miz Janney's, saying:
"I just think she's really special and wonderful and incredibly, weirdly watchable. She's truly one of the greatest actors on the planet, and I'm always thinking of roles for her."
In fact, it was his idea to dress the acclaimed actress as a circus performer, recalling:
"I said, 'Allison Janney dancing as a sexy clown is something I really want to see, and I suspect that other people will want to see it too.'"
Soooooo… what does the clown costume symbolize, exactly?! Josh explained:
"[The video] is a lot about image and reflecting and the costumes and masks we wear for each other. But also, the more I sat with this, the more I realized it's about actors in a certain way: It's weird and hard to be human and deal with yourself, but when you find the right role or character or even outfit, something comes alive. When [Janney] sinks her teeth into something, it's like the rest of the world is gone."
The star-studded video is TOTALLY worth the watch, especially since it ends with an incredibly emotional scene! Ch-ch-check it out (below)!
It's hard to imagine the Oscars without its jaw-dropping ending!
As you know, La La Land was mistakenly announced as the winner of the Best Picture award when it was really Moonlight that won! The shocking moment led to an awkward series of events, with even Jimmy Kimmel cutting in to smooth everything over.
