Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg recently sat down with Katie Couric to chat about a whole slew of controversial topics.
In the new Yahoo! interview — released on Monday — the journalist asked the political figure how we can eliminate the racial divide within our country, especially the far-too-often police shootings of unarmed black men.
"I think there are serious efforts to educate the police and local communities to the importance of rapport. … We are dependent on police officers for our security, but they should also be cognizant of the community that they serve."
When asked her opinion on the San Francisco 49ers player's strong stance against the song, the New York native straight-up SLAMMED the sports star's demonstration, saying:
"I think it's really dumb of them. Would I arrest them for doing it? No. I think it's dumb and disrespectful. I would have the same answer if you asked me about flag burning. I think it's a terrible thing to do, but I wouldn't lock a person up for doing it. I would point out how ridiculous it seems to me to do such an act."
Up until now, we figured the Notorious RBG would be Team Colin on this one. But she continued to make it clear that she does not support the NFL athlete's movement, adding:
"If they want to be stupid, there's no law that should be preventive. If they want to be arrogant, there's no law that prevents them from that. What I would do is strongly take issue with the point of view that they are expressing when they do that."
We never really thought we'd see the day where we disagree with Ruth, but here it is.
Ch-ch-check out her response to Colin's poignant protests in the video (below)! She spills on the hot topic at around 20:00!
Carter was performing last night at a place called the Looney Bin in Bradley, Illinois when the night's opening act -- an artist called ILL State -- walked through the audience and started grabbing people's phones to shoot video.
An eyewitness reported to TMZ that security removed the guy pretty quickly (way to go, opening act...), but as he was getting kicked out, Aaron allegedly yelled
