Is it too late for Toya Wright and Lil Wayne?
Well, according to the 32-year-old's new book In My Own Words … My Real Reality, the How To Love rapper is definitely still in love with his former flame.
As you may know, the 34-year-old artist and Toya share 17-year-old daughter, Reginae Carter, and were married for two years before divorcing in 2006. Sounds like these two have quite a history!
In the text messages printed in Toya's memoir, Weezy allegedly pens:
"I want [you] to know that no matter what woman or relationship I involve myself with, I look for [you] or a piece of [you] inside that woman."
"My definition of a perfect woman is [you]. Perfect mother, friend, and love. [You're] perfect. Sweet but sexy, crazy but cool, mean but modest and if no one knows [you], I do."
The New Orleans native also released a book this week called Gone Till November: A Journal of Rikers Island, in which he remembers how his "love" Wright was the first person to visit him in jail.
According to the texts in Wright's book, it seems the artist still holds on to hope for them having their family together.
He supposedly confesses:
"The problem is when I think about a perfect future with someone I envision [you] in the house and Nae in her room and me at work….perfect."
"I know I'm too wild for you and it may seem as if I don't take love or relationships seriously, but believe me when I say I'd gladly straighten up and fly right for you [cause] I know you'd accept nothing less. Given the respect I have for you and that lil' girl, it would be nothing for me to do and be not what [you] want but what [you] need."
We wonder if Toya would ever consider getting back together with Wayne, considering she separated from her husband Mickey Wright last year.
The beauty tells People of the importance of the book:
"This is my truth, my life, my reality. People always ask me about my relationship with Wayne and I just decided to open up and share it."
True love doesn't have an expiration date!
