As you know, people's ears perked up when Kanye West called out Jay Z for not reaching out after Kim Kardashian West's Paris robbery — and even dished that their daughters North West and Blue Ivy Carter "ain't never even played together." Eep.
In response to the classic Yeezy rant, a music insider told Page Six the rappers' friendship has actually never been what it seems:
"Jay can't stand him. He looks at him as this crazy, eccentric motherf *cker he can tolerate in small doses. Kanye is a nut job. Everyone knows that."
Those are fighting words, if you ask us!

As for the Watch The Throne tour back in 2011, the source said Beyoncé's husband "tolerated" the Fade artist because of the money at risk:
"There was so much money to be made. Jay was like, ‘I'm gonna knock this out. We're going to do a tour to bring in millions of dollars. I can tolerate that.'"
All about the Benjamins, baby!
However, a source close to the Chicago native maintained that Yeezy wasn't dissing Jay during his impromptu speech — and in fact, the 46-year-old music vet thinks ‘Ye is a "genius" (shocker):
"It didn't seem like Kanye was dissing Jay at all. They are brothers, closer than friends. Jay appreciates Kanye's genius, understands his passions and eccentricities and is accepting of it all."
But the first insider disagreed:
"That's just perception. The reality is that Jay doesn't want that much to do with him. He likes his own space and is private. They're very much not the same person. Jay's immediate circle is very insular, and Kanye is just a guy who always wants something in the spotlight."
*Eyes wide emoji*
So far no word from the rappers themselves, but we're sure it won't be too long before we hear from Kanye. LOLz!
