What a cautionary tale!
On Monday, Justin Timberlake flew to his hometown of Memphis to exercise his right to vote. The exciting moment comes on the heels of Justin expressing MAJOR support for presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton.

While Timberlake was clearly excited to cast his vote, he obviously wasn't paying too much attention to the law either.
For those who don't know, Tennessee law prohibits voters from taking photos or recording conversations in the voting rooms. Offenders of this law (which was just passed last year) can be hit with a 30-day jail sentence and a $50 fine.
Yikes! It's hard to imagine the dad behind bars for participating in democracy!
As for whether the police are involved, TMZ reports the D.A. has put this case "under review." We imagine they'll decide whether or not to prosecute pretty quickly.
Luckily for the entertainer, the official from the election's board where Justin voted is staunchly against prosecution. The official believes the star should be celebrated for encouraging others to vote.
Well, you can't knock Timberlake for his passion! He clearly meant no harm by the selfie — he just needs to be a little more careful next time.
On a more positive note, check out the musician's message about voting (below)!
"Hey! You! Yeah, YOU! I just flew from LA to Memphis to #rockthevote!!! No excuses, my good people! There could be early voting in your town too. If not, November 8th! Choose to have a voice! If you don't, then we can't HEAR YOU! Get out and VOTE! #excerciseyourrighttovote."
What an important PSA! Get out and vote, people!
