So sad.

On Tuesday, two Pennsylvania teens were found dead in an apparent double suicide.

The bodies of the Williamsport Area High School students were found in a parked car near a Rose Valley Lake boat ramp. Authorities found a handgun at the scene; Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr. has officially ruled the deaths a suicide.

While the teenagers' identities haven't been released by authorities, DailyMail reports friends identified them on social media as Annika Monique and Brenden Shipman.

According to information available on Facebook, the two had been dating since April.

Strangely, just hours before apparently taking their own lives, Annika and Brenden shared smiling selfies together online.

The Williamsport Area School District has confirmed Annika was a senior and Brendan was a junior. A GoFundMe page for the boy's funeral costs revealed he was only 16 years old.

Superintendent Timothy Bowers issued a statement on the terrible tragedy, saying:

"We are shocked and saddened by these students' deaths. We extend our condolences to their families during this very difficult time. We have a team of grief counselors available on-site for our students, faculty and staff."

PennLive.com reports police were in the process of filing missing persons reports for the young couple when their bodies were found.

An account from Detective Sgt. Christopher Kriner revealed the two had left school early on Tuesday, and Annika had driven her boyfriend to his house, where he grabbed his family's pistol.

We may never know why the teens chose to take their own lives.

Our hearts are with everyone affected during this incredibly difficult time.
