Evan Rachel Wood isn't afraid to open up!
During her recent interview with Rolling Stone, the Westworld star talked about her lengthy career in Hollywood and the emotional hardships she's dealt with along the way. Specifically, Miz Wood opened up about being a two-time sexual assault survivor and defended her past relationship with Marilyn Manson.

Hmm, go on. Despite the fact the Thirteen alum and the I Don't Like Drugs singer split years ago, many people are still baffled to learn that the blonde stunner and the rocker were ever an item.
On her romance with Manson, Evan explained:
"I met somebody that promised freedom and expression and no judgments. And I was craving danger and excitement. I looked at my mother one day and said, 'Mom, I'm gonna get on this tour bus for eight months and see the world and have a crazy journey and find myself, and if people aren't OK with that, I'm sorry, but I can't live my life for other people.'"
Well said. Many people were against the match as the True Blood vet was only 18-years-old when she met the much older Marilyn.
Still, Evan learned to power through the backlash as she explained:
"Most teenagers are searching for identity, and I was thrown into a situation where I was supposed to have that already figured out. Then you're demonized for figuring it out and getting messy. People would call me a whore when I walked down the street, and you can't not be hurt by that."
However, what many fans didn't realize during their courtship was that Wood wasn't just attracted to the freedom associated with Manson, but she was also physically attracted to his androgyny. As you may recall, back in 2011, the mother-of-one publicly came out as bisexual. What's inneresting is the Hollywood beauty attributes her vulnerability to her sexual identity. Wood added:
"It was always talked about like a phase or something stupid, or something you were doing for attention. You know, bisexuality is worthy of eye rolls. And I didn't realize how damaging that was until I tried to have healthy relationships as an adult and realized that there was still all this shame and conditioning and stigma around my sexuality that was really affecting the way I related to people. I think I was taken advantage of because someone knew there was something about me that they could exploit."
How awful. Unfortunately, in a side email to the Rolling Stones journalist, the 29-year-old shared she had been raped twice in her past. Days after the presidential election, Evan penned:
"Yes. I've been raped. By a significant other while we were together. And on a separate occasion, by the owner of a bar . . . I don't believe we live in a time where people can stay silent any longer. Not given the state our world is in with its blatant bigotry and sexism."
Evan credits the birth of her son with ex Jamie Bell for helping her embrace who she is as she concluded:
"I had my son, and that changed everything. It got me out of my own shit. I just couldn't be what I was not…We are conditioned in certain ways, and it's a journey to break that conditioning, and I think that's been a lot of my journey, honestly."
It honestly takes a lot of bravery to candidly chat about such difficult subjects and we couldn't be prouder of Evan for giving this interview. Snaps all around!
