The outspoken author stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Monday morning to promote her new tell-all to Natalie Morales and Kit Hoover… but ended up just dishing about Hollywood's best kept behind-the-scenes secrets!
"I have to just come clean, here's the thing: In my very last dinner with Joan Rivers, we would always check in with each other, and I'd be like, 'Where are you with Ellen?' and she'd be like, 'Ugh… still hates me,' and I'd say, 'Oh, she thinks I'm mean.' And the truth is, I guess I feel like I'm sticking up for a pal. I think Ellen's achievements are fantastic; how could I not? But there are so few female comics over 50 that are making a living, or doing okay, we need to support each other. I just thought, 'What am I waiting for?' But almost every time Joan and I would get together, we'd be like, 'Anything from Ellen? No. You? No.'"
Sara Beltran-Hernandez, a 26-year-old mother-of-two, was awaiting an emergency surgery for a brain tumor this week -- but was instead forcibly moved by federal agents from the hospital to a detention center following Donald Trump's immigration ban.
A little background: Beltran-Hernandez was seeking asylum in the United States as a victim of domestic abuse in El Salvador back in November 2015 when she was picked up by immigration agents on her way to New York to visit her mother.
She's been detained in Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas ever since -- until she was hospitalized in Fort Worth after a doctor discovered the brain tumor.
