Is nothing safe from Donald Trump anymore?!
In a panel discussion with SAG-AFTRA Tuesday night, Lauren Graham did the unthinkable when she used Drumpf to defend the Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life backlash.
Let's just say we're a tad emotionally scarred from Donald being linked to our beloved Stars Hollow universe…

In case you missed the highly-anticipated revival, some fans expressed frustration at the rampant narcissism of Lauren and Alexis Bledel's characters. To be fair, Rory did forget her boyfriend's name a billion times despite their relationship of TWO YEARS… it's pretty hard for a viewer to defend that kind of nonsense!
When the panel's moderator Gazelle Emami brought up the pair's "awful" and a "little bit selfish ways", Ms. Graham already had a pointed response waiting for her, rationalizing:
"We don't pay attention to anything. We don't know. None of us are on the Internet, almost at all. So I know what you mean, but the show has a sense of humor, and that's its sense of humor. And I think maybe it feels a little different; Rory's not in high school anymore, so yes, as grown women constantly forgetting… I just thought it was a funny runner."
Hmm… shouldn't Rory mature as she ages? It's seems like the series' star devolved as time went on!
Expanding on her defense, Lauren went on to compare the show's "theatrical" tone to Trump, explaining:
"… But the whole show has a kind of heightened theatrical quality. I mean, just like Donald Trump, don't take it literally. But unlike that, to me it was more of a metaphor for, this isn't the right guy, and this is how they communicate about it, and does it go 10 steps too far? I don't know, but it was 90 minutes. We had a lot of time to fill."
Yikes! It's hard not to take it "literally" when the actual President-elect threatening to lock people up over expressing their first amendment rights.
But hey, when you're talking that fast you're bound to say something wrong, right?
