***WARNING: The Walking Dead Spoilers Ahead***

Growing up in the zombie apocalypse isn't exactly easy street

Just ask Chandler Riggs, who just had his very own episode of The Walking Dead on Sunday night!

As you may already be aware, following those two MAJOR fan-favorite deaths at the start of Season 7… similar rumors began surrounding Carl himself when news of his 17-year-old actor's IRL acceptance to college was made public knowledge.

Well, after he survived his failed ambush against Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) over the weekend, the fan theory he was about to be killed off looked a lot less likely.

In anticipation of the episode, Chandler sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to discuss how becoming an Auburn undergrad didn't have to mean the death of Carl.

Can Riggs really do both? He said:

"I really do hope it works out because that would be really cool. I like to be in The Walking Dead and I like to play video games and just hang out with my friends and try to be as normal as possible so going to college would be another really cool, normal experience in my life. I want for it to work out."

He's just, like, a totes norms teen, ya know?

But while he may want it to work out… does the child actor actually think there's a chance?

"Theoretically, I could take one or two classes on campus and maybe an online class. My professors would have to be willing to cooperate. It wouldn't be easy but I think that could be possible."

TBH, it looks like Chandler will be around for years to come

After all, Sunday's penultimate episode was the perfect chance to kill Carl off in a blaze of glory — which means he'll probably last until the eventual series finale at this rate.

Especially considering his only response to whether he has a Season 8 contract was a rather blunt:

"I can't answer that."

Sure…

Do U hope to see Chandler/Carl survive college/the apocalypse??
