Our hearts are just breaking for Alan Thicke's loved ones.
As we previously reported, the Growing Pains alum passed away this week after suffering a heart attack while playing hockey with his son Carter. He was only 69-years-old.
So it's no wonder the industry vet's family is still coping with his untimely passing.

During a candid chat with People, Alan's ex-wife Gloria Loring revealed how her sons with the actor, Brennan Thicke and Robin Thicke, reacted to the tragic news. Miz Loring shared:
"My son Brennan sent me a text that said: ‘Dad's had a heart attack — it's a big deal.' I called back but he didn't answer the phone. Then I got a call from Robin after that. Robin said that they had taken him to the hospital and that he was going into surgery. I said: 'Well, that sounds hopeful.' Literally minutes later, I got a text message from Brennan that said: 'He's gone.'"
Talk about a traumatic situation. She continued:
"When I read it, I said out loud: ‘No.' At first, I couldn't believe it. I thought: ‘What? No. It can't be true. It's too fast. It's too final.' "
So sad. And of course, Thicke's kids were equally shaken up too as Gloria said Robin and Brennan were "just devastated and could barely talk."
Not to mention, it seems as though the Thicke boys are still reeling from the Canadian-born actor's passing as the soap star noted:
"I've sent them some messages and have called — neither of them are answering their phones right now."
We don't blame them. Also, the 70-year-old didn't get too specific about how her children are coping as she believes it's "their story to tell."

Thankfully, the family is rallying around each other during this particularly trying time. As it was Loring's birthday last week and it is Brennan's name day on Saturday, the family will still have their planned joint party — but it'll also now be a "commiserating celebration of Alan."
Obviously Gloria's not only thinking about her boys at this time, as she feels particularly devastated for Alan's third wife Tanya Callau and youngest son. The Days Of Ours Lives star concluded:
"We all feel so devastated for Tanya and for Carter. They're living with him every day. That physical loss — we have the emotional and psychological loss — but for them to also have the physical loss of his presence and his humor and his perspective and wisdom and guidance … my heart goes out to both of them so much."
We couldn't have said it better ourselves. R.I.P. Alan, you are surely missed.
