The USA Gymnastics Association is in a total state of crisis right now.
As we previously reported, a damning and lengthy investigation was recently conducted into the whirlwind of sexual assault allegations within America's gymnastics community. The report cited 358 cases of children alleging sexual misconduct against gymnastic coaches, doctors, and various gym staff members across the country.

Now it looks like another scandal is brewing as former team physician for USA Gymnastics Larry Nassar was just charged with multiple counts of possessing child pornography.
In case you missed it, we first reported on Larry back in September when he was accused of criminal sexual conduct with multiple persons under thirteen. The former Michigan faculty member had allegedly fondled young girls' breasts and digitally penetrated them during physical examinations.
Per a new indictment, the physician has now been charged with two counts of receipt and attempted receipt of child pornography as well as one count of possession of child pornography.
The docs specifically accuse Larry of downloading six images depicting minors in a sexually-explicit manner. Authorities also claim another nine illegal images were recovered from his computer in addition to a video depicting a 10-year-old girl being molested by an unknown perp.

Now that Nassar has been formally charged in connection to those allegations, he's facing a ton of prison time for all the charges stacked against him. It's possible the scandalized doc could face life in prison if he's convicted of the three counts of criminal sexual conduct.
As of now, the criminal is being held on a $1 million dollar bond. Nassar's attorney declined to comment on these new charges and his client has yet to enter a formal plea regarding the case.
We'll keep you updated as this situation unfolds.
