We bet Michael Phelps' neck was a tad sore after this photoshoot — good thing he works out! Ha!
On Tuesday, Sports Illustrated released their latest cover featuring the "greatest Olympian of all time" wearing all of his twenty-three gold medals. It's safe to say the swimmer has mastered the art of looking simultaneously badass and ridiculous after looking at this spread.
Hey, he normally wears pulls off Speedos and goggles, so this was nothin'!

Gold medals aside, Michael also took the time to address his surprise July wedding to Nicole Johnson and his retirement from the Olympic games.
While we'd all love to see the star go for another gold eight years from now, he expressed doubt at a future comeback. Apparently the only person who could get him to return would be his beloved son Boomer!
The talented celeb revealed:
"I give it eight years, and then Boomer is like, 'Come on, Dad, let's see it one more time'. I see that being the only thing that could bring him back—to swim for Boomer. Eight years down the road, I would be so far removed that it's almost impossible to come back, physically. Unless I trained for a full four years, and that's not happening, so, to end this conversation, I'm done."
Darn… that doesn't sound promising. We'll keep our fingers crossed, though!
As for his whirlwind marriage, the athlete didn't go overboard with the gushy romantic stuff — in fact, the new dad was more than practical about the whole thing!
Speaking on why the two got married, Michael explained:
"Simple reason. Boomer's last name was Phelps and Nicole's was Johnson, and that was going to make overseas travel more difficult. We were getting married anyway, so we just did it."
Well, there ya go! It definitely sounds like getting hitched was the most logical choice.
So, what do YOU think of Phelps' cover?
