Hilaria Baldwin is laying it all out there in her new book, The Living Clearly Method.
From her battle with anorexia and bulimia, to her husband Alec Baldwin's own personal struggle with his eating habits, we're getting an inside look at the couple's health history.
Early on, the mom-of-three discovered her passion for Latin ballroom dancing — a commitment she dedicated her young adulthood to. But that came with its own set of struggles including the pressure to be thin.
In her new memoir, the 32-year-old writes:
"Without realizing it, I started drifting away from the playful connection to movement I'd enjoyed as a young child and into a different and darker kind of dynamic: pushing my body to its limits and commanding it to perform through pain or fatigue."

This came to a head while she was studying at NYU:
"A long simmering struggle with anorexia and bulimia began to hold me firmly in its grip. By the time I was 20 years old, my 5-foot-3 frame was at least 20 lbs. under a healthy weight. My nails were brittle, my hair was falling out, my period was MIA, and my energy had tanked. I was miserable and desperate to feel better."
Miz Baldwin credits yoga and opening her own studio to pulling her out of the lull, but she still had many battles in front of her:
"I wish I could say that it was smooth sailing from this point on, but sometimes things have to get a whole lot worse before they get better. Even while I was helping so many others, I still didn't listen to my body. Extraordinarily long days became my reality; skipping meals was par for the course."
It wasn't until 2009 when Hilaria suffered a bad fall that ultimately became the "rude awakening" she needed:
"My year of recovery turned out to be a year of waking up, in which I healed my two-decade-long eating struggle and began to treat myself right. I started to find pleasure in engaging fully with the whole process of eating, instead of checking out or avoiding it. The imbalances that had been there for much of my life returned to balance, and I looked and felt a hundred times better as a result."
Much of what the brunette's discovered along the way about health have helped guide her famous husband's journey to wellness as well.
When the two first started dating, Hilaria writes that she noticed how poorly the 30 Rock actor was taking care of himself:
"His cup was close to the brim. His cup was so full that his body couldn't metabolize even a bite or two of sugar without causing insulin disruption, and this was leading him dangerously close to a chronic disease."
"After years of eating out, eating late, and eating too much, he'd fallen into some bad habits without realizing it. His sugar intake was far too high, not just due to sweet foods and white carbs, but to pasta, sauces with hidden sugars, and snacks. I quietly watched what he ate, only mentally jotting down my secret wish list of what I'd tell him if he asked."
It wasn't until a doctor told Alec that he his blood sugar was "at pre-diabetic levels" that the actor realized he needed to revamp his habits.
So, the 58-year-old cut out pastas, sauces, and other refined carbohydrates:
"This was a moment for drastically putting order where disorder had taken over; his body chemistry couldn't rebalance until the aggravating foods and drinks were removed."
And together, by eating healthy and exercising, the comedian was able to drop a lot of weight:
"This episode completely changed his relationship to eating. By hitting a crisis point, he gained a new perspective on some of the unhelpful habits that became his normal without realizing it."
Good for both of them!
