On Tuesday, the Shape Of You singer sat down with Zane Lowe for a candid interview for Beats 1/Apple Music. Not only was this chat the first in-depth interview Sheeran's given since coming off his year-long hiatus, but the hitmaker also revealed what he's looking forward to in the future.
Yup, it seems like Ed has babies on the brain. After dishing about the pub he built in his new pad, the 25-year-old explained why exactly he constructed the drinking spot underground:
"The problem with my house at the moment is, if I have a house party, it's all in the house. And if I have kids, I still want to have mates around and have beers and stuff like that, so it's good to have something that's separate."
Way to look ahead, bud! And if you're concerned at all for Ed's fictional children, don't worry, as the A-lister quipped to Lowe:
"Me and my wife will take turns [watching the kids]."
Smart, smart. But how serious is Taylor Swift's bestie about having kids in the near future? Well, Ed is pretty darn intent on having little ones as he added:
"I wanted to be a dad, like, last year. I'm ready, let's go – tour bus babies, little fat, chubby babies that just walk around."
Although, we hope Ed doesn't make little red headed babies too soon as, once he does, he plans to take time off from the limelight.
"When they hit four or five and start primary school, I'm just out. I think [Bruce] Springsteen took an extended break when his kids went to school. I think that's going to be me. I want to set up a little studio in the countryside and have new artists come down."
Still, the songwriter could become a poppa at any time as he's been dating girlfriend Cherry Seaborn for around two years AND they live together. On his romance with Miz Seaborn, the notable redhead gushed:
"This has been the first time I've ever actually had the time to fall in love properly. I've always got into relationships very passionate – I'm a redhead and also Irish. But then I will get in a relationship and go on tour for 18 months and everything will f*ck up. And I'm like, ‘Oh, what happened?' But it's because I had no time to put into someone."
In fact, it's Cherry we have to thank for Ed's MIA status this last year. *Sigh* The pleasant celebrity concluded:
"So the catalyst for taking a year off was also the fact that my partner, she quit her job in New York. We were basically like, 'Let's both quit our jobs and let's have a year off forming a tight bond and a relationship.' So we went traveling and spent every day for a year together… We're very, very strong. I've never been happier. I've never been more comfortable. I've never been more inspired. I sort of feel like everything's falling into place because I've given it time."
Hey, at least, Ed walked away from that experience feeling inspired. Be sure to ch-ch-check out the FULL interview for yourself (below)!
April Ryan, the Washington bureau chief for American Urban Radio Networks, asked Spicer how the White House plans to "revamp its image" after two months of divisive policies and persistent reports of Trump's connection to Russia.
Unfortunately, the word "Russia" triggered old Spicey like a Soviet sleeper agent, launching him into full-on defensive jerkwad mode.
Spicer interrupted Ryan's question to unleash a cued-up tirade, barking:
