Behind every great man is a great woman… or in Donald Trump's case, a great nation state he was allegedly in contact with throughout his presidential campaign.
Reports of the President's ties to Russia are nothing new — hell, Trump has even shown off the love letters Vladimir Putin has written him in the past.
But all good presidents being wooed by foreign powers should know that dictators are only after one thing…

According to a new report from the New York Times, evidence shows that members of Trump's campaign and other Trump associates had repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials in the year before the election.
Around the same time it was discovered that Russia was trying to meddle in the election by hacking the Democratic National Committee, U.S. law enforcement and intelligence agencies intercepted phone calls between Trump's camp and the nation state.
The intelligence agencies then investigated whether the Trump campaign was colluding with the Russians on the hacking or in other election-meddling efforts, but found no evidence of collaboration.
However, intelligence and law enforcement agencies were still alarmed by the intercepts, partly because most of the contact was occurring while Trump was praising his political sugar daddy, Putin!

The report, which cites four current and former U.S. officials, states the intercepted calls were not limited to Trump campaign officials, and also included other associates to the businessman.
As for the Russian side, the contacts also included members of the Russian government outside the intelligence agencies.
One Trump associate who was identified on the calls was Paul Manafort, Trump's campaign chairman for several months last year. Manafort, who has done business in Russia, dismissed the accounts of the officials on Tuesday.
While it's not unusual for U.S. businessmen to come in contact with foreign intelligence authorities, law enforcement officials did not say to what extent these conversations may have been about business.

Officials would also not go into detail about what was discussed on the calls, which Russian intelligence officials were contacted, how many of Trump's advisers were involved, and whether the conversations had anything to do with the big boss himself.
But based on other reports from intelligence officials, we can piece together a very believable puzzle that Russia has been puppeteering President Pinocchio's moves for quite some time now.
What do U think all this correspondence between Trump's campaign and Russian intelligence was about?
