Jay Z is having a great 2017 so far.

Not only is Beyoncé's husband getting ready to welcome two new members into the family, but he just scored a historic induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame!

On Wednesday, music legend Nile Rodgers revealed the 2017 Songwriters Hall of Fame class on CBS This Morning.

The inductees include: Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Berry Gordy, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Robert Lamm, James Pankow and Peter Cetera of Chicago, Max Martin, and Jay — who is the first rapper to receive the honor!

Mr. Carter edged out some serious competition to earn the spot this year, as George Michael, Gloria Estefan, and Madonna were all nominated but didn't make the cut. Maybe next year, Madge!

Like everything in Bey and Jay's life, this prestigious honor is well deserved for the 47-year-old. He holds the record for the solo artist with the most No. 1 albums in the Billboard chart with 13.

Congrats, Hov!
