Well this explains a lot.
While many fans are heartbroken over the sudden split of Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, it seems the twosome never planned on having a longterm relationship. Huh.

In fact, one source close to the Chained To The Rhythm singer revealed:
"It was never really supposed to be serious between them. When it first started, she was basically like ‘This will be fun for now.'"
Hmmmm, very inneresting. Not to mention, a Bloom confidant noted that while the Pirates Of The Caribbean vet was "happy and content" with his romance with Miz Perry, he "was not in the mindset to settle down." Waaaah.
And it appears as though the A-listers' love began to deteriorate within the last few weeks. The Katy tipster added:
"[It] just became more and more work to make it work. Because this wasn't something permanent, it just became time to take a break."
Smart, smart! The Orlando source confirmed these sentiments by revealing that things had become "shaky" between the two stars. The insider explained:
"There was nothing dramatic or over the top. Katy's going through a lot of changes for her new music — both physically and emotionally — and this was a part of that."
Very fair. And, in regards to all of the gossip about Orly cozying up to Erin McCabe, The Lord of the Rings actor's pal said the Hollywood hunk was "still keeping his options open" even while dating the pop star. Apparently, their love "wasn't as serious as everyone was making it out to be."
