Logan Leads The Way! Hugh Jackman's New Film Has A MASSIVE Weekend At The Box Office — Here Are The Numbers!

It seems like virtually every weekend so far in 2017, we've reported on struggling films opening at the box office, or maybe — with the exception of bona fide hit Get Out — a surprise upstart that had a better-than-expected turnout to a small degree.

But this… this is VERY different!

Logan opened at the box office over the weekend, and the James Mangold-directed film not only set the biggest opening of 2017 to date, it also is now one of the top opening weekend showings ALL TIME for an R-rated release, and for a March release!!

The Hugh Jackman film put up massive numbers, both domestically and around the world in its first few days in theaters, collecting $85.3 million across North American from 4,071 theaters.

Add to that its foreign totals — $152.5 million across 81 markets around the globs — and you have a truly HUGE opening weekend!

Good reviews are at play here (the film has an A- from CinemaScore), as well as the fact that this appears to be Jackman's final Wolverine moment on the big screen… at least, so he says.

But whatever it is, it's working, and Logan shot to the top of the box office this weekend — and it wasn't even close!

Behind Logan, the box office looks like this: Get Out still commands that number two spot, taking in $26.1 million in now its second weekend in theaters.

New feature The Shack, starring Octavia Spencer and Sam Worthington, is a surprise hit, too — the faith-based film was panned by critics, but moviegoers gave it $16.1 million across 2,888 theaters. That's the best showing for a Christian-leaning movie since Heaven Is Real came out to $22.5 million almost three years ago.

Beyond that, Before I Fall opened this weekend, as well, coming in sixth place and taking in $4.9 million from 2,346 locations around the country. Considering that film cost less than $5 million to make… not a bad opening weekend.

What about U, Perezcious readers?? Did U see anything in theaters this weekend?!
