Sara struggled with the last names of The View's Sara Haines, Jedediah Bila, and Sunny Hostin, as well as The Real's Adrienne Houghton and Jeannie Mai.
And while the on air flub was definitely no John Travolta moment, Gilbert was still criticised for her mispronunciation — by none other than The View's panel moderator Whoopi Goldberg!
Whoopi poked fun at the rival talk show host on Thursday's show, saying to the audience:
"I think [the nominations] were announced on The Talk and I think a couple of the women weren't sure about the pronunciation of everyone's names so please introduce yourself so people know."
After Sara, Jedediah, and Sunny delivered their full names — and Joy Behar introduced herself as Angelina Jolie — Whoopi sent some love to her daytime competition, adding:
"We're thrilled that you guys announced us. We love that, and we just wanted to say, ‘Hey, here's how you do our names,' ’cause maybe our names or some of our names are a little more difficult for folks… We just want to say congratulations to everyone who does this show."
AKA, don't fuck it up next time, Gilbert! We kid (but don't)!
Later on during The Talk, Sara explained why she mispronounced so many of the names, telling the audience:
"I got so many names wrong because I was so nervous and normally when we say people's names, we've gone over who the guests are and we practiced but this was an in the moment thing where we were finding out right along with you who was nominated. So I made several mistakes and I was even nervous when I was saying it knowing I was saying things wrong."
We totally understand… that's a lot of names, after all!
She offered up an apology to all the mispronounced contenders, adding:
"So I'm very, very sorry to any of the women whose names I got wrong. It was a true mistake. I respect you guys. I congratulate you. I would never want to take away from your moment. So I am truly sorry. And it's The View and The Real so I wish you guys luck and again, I apologize. We celebrate you guys."
If award shows taught us anything, it's that things go horribly wrong sometimes! Watch Gilbert's flub (below):
The Daytime Emmy Awards will take place on April 30.
He reportedly was busted for minor in possession of alcohol in 2001 (when he was 19-20 years old), for unlawful use of a license in 2002, and seven times for speeding between 2000-2012. He was even charged with leaving the scene of an accident once before in 2002, but that was later amended.
But those violations pale in comparison to the bust that could damn him to a murder charge. As we previously reported, he's already been busted for a DUI (though it was called an OWI in Iowa) back in 2005. He got 60 days in jail, a year probation, and a fine of $500.
Doesn't seem like much of a penalty to us. But it could change everything for him now. Legal expert Troy Slaten explained to E! News why:
