A visual effects reel for the Oscar-winning film (srsly, are we sure Moonlight didn't really win that one??) was released this week, and mostly it wasn't at all noteworthy. They recorded a plate of a real environment, drew cartoons on it, and then added tons of extra smoke and darkness to hide the mediocre CGI because this ain't your daddy's comic book movie.
But one effect really stood out to viewers — and not in a good way.
Of course, this still doesn't explain why they relegated her character to dancing in front of a blue tower of light the entire movie instead of having a character arc when she could have had a magical Jekyll and Hyde thing going. Or why they made someone so powerful and evil part of the government black ops team in the first place! Or why…

Cops in Indiana got a call on Saturday afternoon with a report of an "unresponsive female" -- and by the time EMTs arrived to the scene, the woman was found dead. Cops later confirmed it was the former TV star's body.
Henry Winkler, Ron Howard, other former co-stars and countless fans and admirers were still reeling from the news as of Sunday morning, too, with many sharing messages of condolences for Moran (below):
