College students should never be upstaged on Graduation Day — unless of course their parent is graduating along with them!

Ben Jeanty thought he would be the first in his family to graduate from college, but he couldn't be more proud to share the moment with his dad, Duvinson, who also recently graduated from William Paterson University.

Ben, a 27-year-old first-generation American said it was "incredible" receiving his diploma alongside his 63-year-old father, a Haitian immigrant who drove an NJ Transit bus for over 25 years.

Ben received a degree in psychology while Duvinson earned his finance degree. The father-of-four enrolled in college part-time ten years ago when he was still working as a bus driver and taking care of his sick mother.

Ben explained his father always put others before himself, telling People:

"Growing up and seeing the way he took care of my grandmother and all of us — it was a lot. Sometimes he was stuck working in the city until two, three in the morning. He never took a day off and helped everyone he encountered."

Duvinson first earned an associate's degree from Passaic County Community College last year.

Though their father-son bond wasn't always perfect, the pair became close after Ben transferred from Rutgers to William Paterson to be near his dad. He continued:

"What better way to show him I appreciate and love him and am in his corner than to graduate with him… His drive inspired me to keep going despite what challenges I encountered."

Going forward, Ben plans on earning a master's degree in urban policy analysis while Duvinson formed a company to help families get their finances in order. Ben added:

"He wants to help first-time home buyers with their properties, to have their American dream because he struggled a lot."

What a great role model! See more father-son graduation footage (below)!
