First Fox News, now Fox Sports?

The sports wing of the Fox media empire is the latest to be plagued by sexual harassment allegations. The network has been investigating claims for just a week, and they've already made a huge dismissal.

Jamie Horowitz, head of programming (pictured above with Shannon Sharpe), has been fired as a probe by an independent law firm questioned several women, according to an inside report from the Los Angeles Times.

We still don't know what Horowitz was accused of specifically, but the implication is pretty clear; in an email to staff announcing the decision, President Eric Shanks wrote:

"Everyone at Fox Sports, no matter what role we play, or what business, function or show we contribute to — should act with respect and adhere to professional conduct at all times. These values are non-negotiable."

Horowitz's attorney, Patricia L. Glaser, says he was blindsided by the move Monday morning, and that he'll be fighting back:

"The way Jamie has been treated by Fox is appalling. At no point in his tenure was there any mention by his superiors or human resources of any misconduct, or an inability to adhere to professional conduct. Jamie was hired by Fox to do a job that until today he was performing in exemplary fashion. Any slanderous accusations to the contrary will be vigorously defended."

Fox Sports doesn't deny this all happened in a hurry. According to the LA Times, Horowitz only found out there was even anything to worry about late Friday, when he was told to report to the office on Monday morning. There he was met by HR and terminated.

But in response to Glaser's denial of any wrongdoing, Fox Sports' attorney Daniel Petrocelli did not mince words, stating:

"Mr. Horowitz's termination was fully warranted and his lawyer's accusations are ill-informed and misguided."

Damn.

Again, we still don't know the particulars of the case, but it does bear a resemblance to what happened with Bill O'Reilly at Fox News — minus the initial coverup attempt.
