Malcolm Young, the co-founder and rhythm guitarist of legendary rock group AC/DC, died on Saturday morning. He was 64 years old.

The musician founded the legendary band back in 1973 with his brother, Angus Young, and the group strung together a string of hard rock hits including songs very well known to this day, like Highway to Hell, Back in Black, Thunderstruck, and Hells Bells.

Malcolm played with the group the entire time since its founding all the way up until 2014, when he was replaced by his nephew Stevie Young as his health began to deteriorate.

Over the past few years now, Malcolm had been fighting dementia, and it appears that condition may have contributed to his death on Saturday morning, per reports.

According to the band, Young died peacefully this morning with family by his bedside.

He's survived by his wife, two children, and three grandchildren, in addition to his brother, bandmates, and other loved ones and friends.

Our hearts go out to all of them during this difficult time.
