Javier Bardem Is 'Very Shocked By This Sudden Treatment' Of Alleged Sexual Abuser Woody Allen

Woody Allen has found another ally in Tinseltown.

As you surely know, amid the #MeToo and Time's Up movements, Dylan Farrow has once again brought to light her sexual abuse allegations against her adoptive father. While the Annie Hall director has vehemently denied the claims, Farrow and her brother Ronan have maintained that she was victimized by the Oscar winner.

As things are changing in Hollywood, many of Allen's former collaborators showcased their support for Dylan by denouncing the celebrated filmmaker and promising to never work with him again. This is NOT the case for Javier Bardem.

For an interview with the publication Paris Match, the 49-year-old said he was "absolutely not" ashamed to have starred in Woody's '08 flick, Vicky Cristina Barcelona. In case you forgot, Bardem starred in the project alongside his now wife, Penelope Cruz, who won an Academy Award for her work.

Javier didn't stop there, regarding Allen's controversy, as he revealed that he has "doubts" over the criticism of Woody. He noted:

"If there was evidence that Woody Allen was guilty, then yes, I would have stopped working with him, but I have doubts."

The accusations against Allen first surfaced in 1992, amid his explosive split from ex Mia Farrow. However, the industry legend was never charged — something Javier mentioned in his defense of Woody. He continued:

"I am very shocked by this sudden treatment. Judgments in the states of New York and Connecticut found him innocent. The legal situation today is the same as in 2007."

At the time of the investigation, New York State Child Welfare ruled that "no credible evidence" definitively proved Dylan had been "abused or maltreated." Although Connecticut state attorney Frank S. Maco later admitted that they found "probable cause" to prosecute Allen, they felt the young Miz Farrow was too "fragile" to face a trial.

Javier is in no way an enemy of the recent feminist movements, however, he is concerned that a divide is becoming more prominent between the different sexes. The A-lister concluded:

"I'm fortunate to have been raised by a very strong mother who taught me to respect women. Today, we have the impression there are men on one side and women on the other, which sends a very bad message to the younger generation. The goal is not to be against each other but to be with others."

We reaaaaally doubt women want to be lectured about how they should interact with men. Especially since all of this sexual misconduct is only JUST coming out.

What do YOU think?? Does Javier have a point??
