Shiloh Pepin, known to the public as "Mermaid Girl", passed away this weekend in Portland, Maine.

She was only 10-years-old.

So sad.

Pepin was born with a condition called sirenomelia, in which she was born with her legs fused together with no lower colon, genital organs and only one working kidney.

Shiloh, who doctors believed would only live for a few days after her birth, had become a media darling in recent years, appearing on both TLC and The Oprah Winfrey Show, explaining the trials of her condition.

Our thoughts are with Shiloh's family and friends.

Louis Walsh Not On X Factor This Weekend, To Pay Respects To Stephen Gately

wenn1025823sg.jpg

Louis Walsh will be noticeably absent from the X Factor this coming weekend as the music manager will be attending Stephen Gately's funeral.

The X Factor has released this official statement:

"Due to recent tragic events, Louis Walsh will not be appearing on either the Saturday or Sunday live The X Factor shows this weekend as he is attending Stephen Gately's funeral. Louis has been in close contact with his acts throughout the week, although his opinions will not be represented in the show this weekend."

Walsh put Boyzone together in the early '90s and was very close with Stephen.

Sad, sad.

Billy Mays New Autopsy Says Cocaine NOT A Factor In His Death

billymays__opt.jpg

Okay, we guess we take it back!

Billy Mays' widow Deborah Mays did not believe the medical examiner's report that cocaine contributed to her husband's death and she was right!

After a second investigation by independent medical examiner Dr. William L. Manion he found that:

"Chronic cocaine use was not demonstrated by the autopsy findings of Mr. William Mays. In addition, there is nothing in his medical, social or professional history to suggest chronic cocaine use.

Therefore, I do not believe cocaine played a significant contributing factor in the death of Mr. Mays as the autopsy specimens and findings are not consistent with the cardiac conditions normally observed in a person chronically using cocaine."

Something seems off, though. How could the first medical examiner make such a big mistake?

And this new guy is an "independent" medical examiner?

Hmmm.

Fox Reality Channel Is Dead

fox_reality_e.jpg

We hope the Househusbands of Hollywood didn't get too comfortable in front of the cameras, because at the end of March Fox Reality Channel will be no more.

The channel, which is a part of Fox Cable Networks, says "With the changing cable landscape, we've made a strategic decision to shift some resources and refocus on emerging channels. However, Fox Reality Channel will remain on on our lineup for at least the next several months."

Kinda odd considering that the channel was actually successful and brought in ratings and ca$$$h for Fox.

But there is a slight chance that Fox Reality could be salvaged. There's buzz that the network may get an overhaul with a possible name change and different focus.

Guess we'll have to wait and see, but even if it does go off the air on March 31st, we're sure you can find a reality show or 10 on every channel.

wenn2416009gately__opt11__o.jpg

The details for the funeral of Stephen Gately has been announced.

The Boyzone star will be laid to rest at noon on Saturday at St Laurence O'Toole's Church in his hometown of Dublin.

Currently, his remains are being held in Majorca, but the family hopes for the body to be returned to them on Friday so they can hold a private wake in the family home.

Stephen's grieving husband, Andrew Cowles recently visited the Calvia mortuary where his partner is being held, while Boyzone manager and X Factor judge Louis Walsh confirmed that he will be attending the funeral this weekend.

So sad.

albano_rip.jpg

Pro wrestling legend Captain Lou Albano passed away on Wednesday morning at the age of 76.

Lou was admitted for hospice care earlier in the week following a hospital stay. The wrestler had struggled with his poor health in recent years, suffering a heart attack in 2005.

Albano, a former wrestler for the WWF, was most popularly known to the non-wrestling world as Cyndi Lauper's father in the video for Girls Just Want to Have Fun.

So, so sad.

You will be dearly missed, Captain Lou.

Stephen Gately May Have Died From Sudden Adult Death Syndrome

wenn2416009gately__opt1.jpg

Further information has been revealed in the tragic death of Boyzone member Stephen Gately. The singer's lungs quickly filled with fluid and doctors say that in most cases this is related to heart failure and could have potentially been Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS).

UK cardiologist Dr. Sanjay Sharma explains:

“In young people like Stephen, under 35, the vast majority of cases are caused by either hereditary diseases affecting the heart muscle itself or an electrical fault of the heart…I would say it was an electrical fault, when the heart goes into a fatally fast rhythm, around 300 beats a minute. That would only need to happen for a couple of minutes to result in death. A medic would have had to have got to him within minutes. Often in these cases a first symptom of the condition is death, however he may have suffered palpitations and or blackouts.”

90 percent of SADS cases are men and 12 people under 35 die from the condition each week!

Toxicology reports aren't expected for another few weeks, but the autopsy doesn't suggest Gately's death was caused by alcohol or drugs nor foul play of any kind.

Stephen's grieving mother, Margaret Gately, suspects her son passed from a hereditary heart condition as his father's side of the family has been affected by heart disease in the past.

The remaining members of Boyzone plan to accompany Gately's body by private jet on its return to Dublin from Majorca later this week. His funeral is expected to take place on Sunday.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends and his partner, Andrew Cowles, during this sad time.

Stephen Gately Autopsy Results!

wenn2416009gately__opt11.jpg

According to a Spanish court, the 33 year old Boyzone star Stephen Gately died of natural causes, rather than choking on his own vomit.

The Balearic Islands Superior Tribunal said in a statement on Tuesday that Gately died from fluid in the lungs and there were no signs of violence to the body.

Now that the autopsy has been completed, his remains can now be flown home.

Hopefully this will bring some kind of closure to his family and friends.
