What's the hold up?!

We've learned this morning that socialite Casey Johnson was not laid to rest yesterday on her family's New Jersey property as earlier reported. A source close to the family wouldn't give any explanation, only stating that it is a "private family matter."

Perhaps this is just a way to confuse the photogs into showing up at the wrong place, wrong time. We can understand that.

Heiress Casey Johnson will be laid to rest on Sunday in New Jersey.

Nicky and Paris Hilton are expected to attend the burial and there is a memorial set for the following day.

Sad news for our Vice President.

Catherine Eugenia "Jean" Finnegan Biden, mother to Vice President Joe Biden, passed away at the age of 92 on Friday.

Biden was surrounded by friends and family at her home in Wilmington, Delaware at the time of her passing.

Vice President Biden released a statement through the White House on Friday, honoring the memory of his late mother.

Writes the VP:

My mother, Catherine Eugenia “Jean” Finnegan Biden, passed away peacefully today at our home in Wilmington, Delaware, surrounded by her children, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren and many loved ones. At 92, she was the center of our family and taught all of her children that family is to be treasured, loyalty is paramount and faith will guide you through the tough times. She believed in us, and because of that, we believed in ourselves. Together with my father, her husband of 61 years who passed away in 2002, we learned the dignity of hard work and that you are defined by your sense of honor. Her strength, which was immeasurable, will live on in all of us.

Former Playboy model Paula Sladewski was tragically murdered on Wednesday in Miami. Her body was found "burned beyond recognition" and discarded in the trash several days later as police responded to a call reporting flames in a dumpster near a propane manufacturer.

"It's so horrific. They'd have to be a monster. It's a dastardly act," said North Miami police spokesman Lt. Neal Cuevas. "It's the most heinous thing that a person can do to another person. It was just total, total, disfigurement. You couldn't even tell that it was a woman or a man or even what race."

Sladewski disappeared on Sunday morning and the last person to see her was her boyfriend of two years. The couple had a fight that evening at Club Space. She stayed behind while he went back to their hotel and when she did not return, he filed a missing persons report. Her boyfriend was questioned for 12 hours and does not seem to be a suspect.

"She loved life, she was full of life," cried Sladewski's sister, Kelly Farris. "She went on a lot of vacations. She was a great person. I couldn't imagine anything like this happening, you know. We can't even give her an open casket. We can't even see her again. She did not deserve to die in this way."

So sad.

But not so distraught that she's going to his funeral!

Heidi Fleiss, who is currently participating in UK's Celebrity Big Brother, lost her biological brother, Jason, several days before filming began.

The tragedy occurred while he was on vacation in Hawaii over New Years, as he was swept into the sea by a strong current and drowned.

Fleiss debated pulling out of the show, but was convinced to continue filming by her long-time boyfriend, Dennis Hof, better known as the owner of the famed Moonlite Bunny Ranch. Even though it means she'd have to miss his funeral.

"Heidi was so devastated she almost pulled out of Celebrity Big Brother," said Dennis. "She said, 'I loved Jason. I don't want to be disrespectful to him.' I told her she needed to get away and stay busy so she does not have time to dwell on this awful thing."

No word on what Heidi's older brother Jesse thinks, as he was also swimming in the ocean that day, but was miraculously saved by a surfer.

Sad.

So sad.

Casey Johnson's family has been concerned about her mental and physical state for quite some time now making her death not much of a surprise to those who were close to her.

Casey had been dealing with mental problems including being unable to sleep and ordering prescription meds on the Internet to help her sleep.

Oftentimes she would crash in the middle of the day sleeping up to 16 hours after being awake for days partying. Casey also dabbled in cocaine usage.

Casey would also wake up her 3-year-old daughter Ava-Monroe in the middle of the night to play before she was eventually taken away by Casey's mother.

The Johnson family was also very concerned about Casey's questionable relationship with Tila Tequila and their engagement.

Her family also wanted to take her to the best rehab facility in the country, but it seems that Casey didn't want the help despite her family's desperation.

Casey's funeral will be held later this week. Her family released the following statement:

"The Johnson family wishes to thank everyone who has expressed condolences and support during this trying time. Your thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated."

Our thoughts are with them.

In the wake of her sudden passing on Monday, family spokesman Jesse Derris has unveiled preliminary funeral arrangements for Johnson and Johnson heiress Casey Johnson.

He says:

"The Johnson family wishes to thank everyone who has expressed condolences and support during this trying time. Your thoughts and condolences and support during this trying time. Your thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated.

The family asks for a measure of privacy over the next several days as they mourn their loss. No other information will be released at this time.

For the many who have asked what they can do to honor Casey's memory, we ask simply that you consider making a donation to the Casey Johnson Memorial at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (www.jdrf.org). Casey struggled throughout her life fighting this disease, and she would want to see all of us continue that fight on her behalf."

So sad.

Several celebrities and friends of Johnson & Johnson heiress Casey Johnson are mourning her death today after the tragic news yesterday.

However, there are some friends who found the news of her death "sad but not surprising."

These pals refer to Casey as "wild," frequently partying in NYC an LA in an effort to forget her "personal problems", like her family or her daughter, Ava. The source recalls that during one of the periods where her family cut her off, Casey even tried to squeeze money out of her friends by saying she needed it for her daughter. The source says:

"Recently she was reaching out to her friends for money. Casey would claim she need the money for baby Ava, but all of her friends knew that her mother had taken Ava to live with her. Her life was out of control, and she couldn't take care of Ava"

So what led to all this crazy behavior? What else - lust for fame!

One source suggests that Casey was desperate to find the kind of recognition her childhood friend Paris Hilton had gotten, to the point that she got obsessed with it. The insider said:

"Casey adored Paris Hilton, Brittny Gastineau and even ex-girlfriend Courtenay Semel. She loved to be around them, but she was also obsessed with Paris' fame. She never knew what to do to get the fame, so she was always craving it."

She had so much else going for her, it's sad to think she may have thrown it all away for something so trivial and fleeting.

Although the cause of death is not official, diabetes may have contributed to the passing of Johnson & Johnson heiress Casey Johnson.

"Casey had very severe diabetes and was not taking care of herself properly," claims a source. "With her condition she should have been closely monitoring her health, taking insulin, monitoring blood sugar levels, and she wasn't."

Of course, her substance abuse issues did not help the matter.

Tragic.
