Richard Quest, a business travel specialist for CNN International, was arrested Friday on a misdemeanor charge of drug possession.
Authorities said Quest was found in Central Park with methamphetamine.
Police noticed the host of CNN Business Traveler at 64th Street and West Drive a bit after 3:40am.
Quest was arrested after he was escorted out of Central Park for violating the park’s curfew. Central Park is closed from 1am to 6am.
As he was being led out, Quest voluntarily said “I have meth in my pocket.”
IDIOT!
When police searched him, they found a small amount of meth in a Ziploc bag.
Luckily for him, Quest was spared jail time. A judge arraigned him the same day and agreed to drop any criminal charges against him if he underwent six months of drug counseling.
CNN has yet to release a comment.
