Yup, he did it!!!
Michael Phelps won his 3rd Olympic gold medal on Tuesday in Beijing.
The U.S. swimmer took home the top prize in the men’s 200 meter freestyle.
AND he set a new world record!
Park Tae-hwan of South Korea took home the silver. And American Peter Vanderkaay earned the bronze.
Phelps is on track to make history and be the first Olympic athlete ever to win 8 gold medals in one Olympic games!
His latest win is Michael’s 9th Olympic gold in his career.
At the Beijing games, he’s already won three gold medals and set three world records.
He’s a beast!
