Baz Luhrman’s epic Australia apparently has all the fixings for a spectacular tourism commercial – except for one thing: its star.
As one reviewer brilliantly put it, Kidman “drifts around films like a lost porcelain doll, looking frozen, brittle and vapid, staring at the camera with her oh-golly-look-how-I’m-looking-interesting blue eyes” and is “exquisitely accomplished at being awful.”
In short, she is “the kiss of death in practically every movie she has starred in.”
