Women Has Two Uteruses And Is Pregnant In Both Of Them!

| Filed under: Baby BlabberWacky, Tacky & True

This is unbelievable!

A woman in Utah named Angie Cromar has an extremely rare condition called uterus didelphys, which essentially means that she has two uteruses, and somehow managed to get pregnant with two children - who are NOT twins - growing side by side in slightly different developmental stages!

She confirms:

“(The doctor) said I’m five weeks and four days in one, and six weeks and one day in the other.”

The 34-year-old, who is already a mother of two, is about one in five million with whom this happens!

Holy shiz! It's definitely something we've never heard of before!

Women who DO, however, have the condition, tend to miscarry or deliver prematurely, so we wish her a safe and healthy pregnancy…and then another one!

Thoughts??

    good luck!

  3. 3

I'M SO HAPPY THAT IS NOT ME. Kids are great yeh yeh yeh… NO THANKS.

  4. 4

except that they are twins. They aren't IDENTICAL TWINS, obviously. They are fraternal twins… do not share the same DNA. Fraternal twins are simply two different eggs that are dropped and fertilized. They can also be at "slightly" different developmental stages. Good grief, have you never had a bio class? A woman drops eggs once a month… they are only fertile for a few days and must be fertilized at that time. Once the woman is pg, her hormones will prevent her from dropping eggs again until she is no longer pg. There are RARE and by RARE i mean only ten confirmed cases of a woman carrying two babies more than a few days apart in gestational age.

i remember this storyline on an episode of grey's anatomy… and the two babies had two different fathers and were a couple months apart in development.

Did a 2 year old write this????? "WOMAN Has Two Uteruses….", not "WOMEN Has…." And that other sentence, "one in five million WHICH WHOM this happens to" I don't even know what to say about that one. Pitiful. To think people this ignorant are making a living writing. For God's sake!

Both my sister and my mother have a similar condition. My mom has two uterus, while my sister has a membane through the center of hers and divides everything into two…it really does suck, my mom had a miscarriage before and an anecephalic baby….my sister had her daughter premature at 25 weeks… it's definitely a reallllly shitty condition. My sister also was pregnant again, but had to deliver her baby at 16 weeks because it was anecephelic. I definitely would hate to be someone with this condition. Its put fear in my sister for having anymore children. After having her second child, the doctor said that the membrane could be removed…and since…it has been…so we'll see what happens with that

Re: TheMrsBradPittRe: TheMrsBradPitt – well maybe you should look up more on her condition she has two uterius… so there for the kids are not twins yes they share the same dna but they were not reproduced at the same time

If you had one ounce of higher education you might stop using MEDICAL ODDITIES as filler for your Entertainment site. Medical conditions are not entertainment. And your ignorance is tiresome

I have the same condition. I found out when I had a c section for my daughter. My daughter was in my right uterus and my left uterus was healthy but a little smaller than the other. Once I found out the going into labor so early so many times finally made sense.

  13. 13

My great-grandmother had this. My great-uncle and great-aunt were born 3 months apart! She unfortunately died when she was a month old.

  14. 14

    This happened on grey's anatomy!!

  15. 15

They had this on a Grey's Anatomy episode! lol Wow! I hope she has a safe delivery…and the SAME baby's daddy.

  16. 16

Re: missb87 – AMEN! 'THEMRSBRADPITT' you're an idiot.

  17. 17

I've heard of this and other uterine anomalies. I have half a uterus myself. unicollis.

  18. 18

    Re: Shannon92 – LOL ! so funny!

  19. 19

My sister has the same exact condition, and she is pregnant with two also. they r two days apart! She just found out she had this condition when they did her first ultrasound. I am soo happy for her!!!

  20. 20

would be more interesting if it's two different dads…

  21. 21

by the way: LADY GAGA IS A DEVIL WORSHIPPER!!!! Search it up on Youtube. There evidence!

  22. 22

Re: TheMrsBradPitt – I find it so funny when people comment on things and just go on and on and on about something that they are completely wrong about. Yes I am talking about your comment. You are an idiot and what you said was just about the dumbest response to this story ever. Please read it again and try to understand. Jesus, it doesn't take a fucking brain surgeon to get it. Retard.

  23. 23

I have this condition, it sucks! While being pregnant in both is rare, it's not the craziest. In Ireland there was a woman with a twoterus who carried twins in one uterus, and a single baby in the other. It's bizarre, but really did happen.

  24. 24

    A. She IS pregnant with twins, fraternal twins. She is simultaneously pregnant with two babies which means that she is pregnant with twins.
    B. There is a four day difference in the size of the babies. With multiples, it is not uncommon for one baby to measure a little ahead of the other. This is not a significant finding. One baby might be a little slower in growth, or implantation took place a little later, which could happen with a single uterus as well.

I have heard of this before. It certainly is not that common, but it is not newsworthy either.

i have this condition and it's not a joking matter
because of it .. i had to bury my first born child and almost lost my second child.
i truly hope that this woman makes it to full term with both babies
but, unfortunately.. didelphic uterus dont tend to be as big or as strong as a normal uterus.. so likely that one or both babies will come early.
just hope and pray that they are not too early.

  26. 26

Dang 1 in 5 million? there like 5 ladies here who claim to have this disorder.

  27. 27

Re: lissa832Re: TheMrsBradPitt – You both need to read up on this condition. She is not pregnant with twins. If she was, they would be in one uterus, if identical they would be in same placenta, if fraternal, differnt placentas but still in the same uterus. THIS woman has two uterus', and they both have an embreyo in them, which makes them siblings but not twins.

  28. 28

Re: lissa832 – not necessarily. from health.howstuffworks.com: "In some cases of double wombs, those two wombs share a set of Fallopian tubes, ovaries, a cervix and a vagina; other times, a girl is born with two of everything — two wombs, two sets of Fallopian tombs and ovaries, two cervixes and two vaginas."

So if this woman's uteri do not share the same set of fallopian tubes, it is entirely possible she became pregnant at two different times, with NOT twins.

Google this woman. Every news article states the children are NOT twins. The doctors agree the children will NOT be twins. You have no idea what you are talking about.

  29. 29

Re: missb87 – No fraternal twins were created at exactly the same time. They are made by 2 separate eggs released at 2 different times in a woman's menstrual cycle. I am carrying fraternal twins and one of them consistently measures a week ahead of the other one. And this woman's twins only measure 3 or 4 days apart. Its not like one is 5 months and one is 4 weeks or something like that. If you are going to call my 2 babies twins, why aren't her 2 babies twins?

  30. 30

The condition of having 2 uteruses isn't actually all that rare, it's being pregnant in both of them that is rare.

  31. 31

    two words: GREY'S ANATOMY

  32. 32

First of all, this is last weeks news.
Second, it is not very rare for a woman to have two uterus, its rare to be pregnant in both at the same time.

  33. 33

I HAVE THE SAME CONDITION AS HER. BUT SHE IS SO LUCKY I BEEN TRYING TO GET PREGNAT FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS

  34. 34

count me in as another commenter who also has uterus didelphys! They said I wouldn't be able to carry full term, but 2 high risk pregnancies and 2 babies later….I proved them wrong.

  35. 35

    Eeeeeeewwwwww!

  36. 36

Yikes, one at a time is plenty for me- I can't imagine having 2 babies in there rolling around! I suppose as long as they are cloce enough at conception that you only have to give birth once it wouldn't be that bad. Thank goodness for me I only have one uterus!
