When police entered Britney Spears' home last night, they noted that she appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance.
However, Life & Style magazine is claiming that Brit Brit was not on drugs Thursday evening, when she had her meltdown.
“Her blood test just came back, and, thank God, it was clean. There are no traces of drugs or alcohol of any kind,” Osama Lutfi a source close to the Spears family tells Life & Style.
They're able to get blood tests back from a lab in a matter of hours???? During the middle of the night!!
We find that highly suspicious.
Did they test for prescription pills??????

Yah….not exactly great that they didn't find drugs. You can get off drugs. But if she is naturally that fucked up…no bueno.
actually perez you dumb f*** they can get results that quickly in the middle of the night, there called STAT labs which mean any routine labs are but on hold. Hospital labs are open 24 hours just like the hospital. retard. And as far as the her missing her meds goes maybe the story wasnt exactly accurate however it is entirely possible that she missed several doses noone know for sure. Does she need her kids taken from her right now sort of she needs to have continued supervised visits only in facility to where they have the control, until she comes to the realization that she needs help and has to take her medication everyday no matter if she thinks she better. Hope she goes out of this realizing what she's done to herself and finally gets the help she desperately needs.
My mom works in the emergency room collecting blood. They can have test results for a lot of things in as little time as 15 minutes.

I work in a hospital in the east coast. I assure you that you are able to get lab results in the middle of the night. Labs are open all the time. Nurse's take blood work all the time at all hours, ER or on the float, even if your sleeping, if the doc wants it, you have to get it. It's all computerized nowadays, so all the nurse has to do is go under the patient's computerized chart and click on doctor's orders, labs if any kind, etc. It's pretty cool. Now if the "close source" is lying about the test, that's a differnt story.
I wouldn't be surprised, even if she is on drugs I wouldn't say they were the cause of the meltdown. Drugs or no drugs, girl needs help big time. This was only a matter of time coming, everyone's been expecting it. I genuinely feel sorry for her and her kids
As a nurse who works in the emergency room at a hospital I assure you we have a lab with lab techs operational 24 hours a day.
First off this story is complete BS. NO YOU CANNOT GET BLOOD WORK BACK IN HOURS ESPECIALLY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!!!! My brother had a mental breakdown just this summer and it took 2 days to get any bloodwork back. Now they could very well have done a urine test which would only have taken minutes (like a ETP test), but urine can be diluted or "replaced" with a clean sample.
Also whomever this "close" source is would have to be a parent or legal gaurdian in order to know the results of any testing, Lufti is not a relative so he most likely (unless the hospital wants to be sued) was not given any medical info on Unfitney. I doubt her Dad would have even spoken to anyone about any info he was given if he was given info. Unforunately because Brit is a adult he probably would not be notified of the results either unless she gave them written permission to do so, seeing as how she and her father are not getting along I doubt she did that.
So basically this whole story is BS and Life & Style sucks!

I had a friend in vegas take it by accident and he went crazy and passed out and the police kept telling him that he is on a controlled substance and when we went to the hospital nothing showed on any drug tests! and its swells yoru face and makes you look distraught and confused! Hello Perez. Of course you can get results in matter of hours. I am a lab technician and there are labs in most hospitals. If the night is slow and a Doctor needs the labs STAT, then labs can be done with in an hour ½ at the latest.
As a nurse, I can tell you that some tests do come back quickly, but toxicology screens take longer. Usually a couple of days. Most hospitals send that test out to be run and don't have an inhouse lab that can run that.

hospital labs are up and running 24 haours a day. they probably did get results that fast because they needed to know what they were dealing with (a naturally occuring mental state, or one that was brought on by an injested substance.) i am no britney fan, nor have i ever been, but it is time to accept that, substance abuse or not, she is in a state of mind where she cannot control her actions. that is sad for her, her kids, and all of her family. it takes a very long time for some people to get ahold of their mental illness, and britney deserves not to be chastised for something that she cannot control.

Of course they can get lab results stat, it's a major hospital with onsite lab! What the hell do think they do to suspected overdose victims? Wait and see what the drug was after death? No, it's a stat req. What they probably got back were preliminary results for the most obvious and easiest to find. There might be more tox results to come later but the prelim results are probably what they claim to be clear.

i used to work in a lab and honestly blood and urine tests take like 20 mins. The increase in time just has to do with the volume of blood samples being tested and how manu lab techs/ machines there are. Which is why it blows my mind when people say they don't find out their lab results for days. Some tests can't even be done if the sample is older than 4 hours

actually labs are run in every hospital in the country in the middle of the night, especially for cardiac patients due to the timed (every 6 hrs) nature of cardiac panels. if someone came in and the md had psych suspicions, the md would order stat toxicology tests.
I work in a Toxicology Laboratory…..if the sample is sent in STAT then you can have the results in an hour or less, i think her only saving grace in all this is that her blood was clear. It makes this a mental issue, and it was only a matter of time before she broke down……it's been heading that way for months

I work in a lab we're open 24 ours seven days a week. Most lab test only take a matter of minutes. Stat tests have an hour turn around time and that's at the very longest. Tisk tisk Perez

Yes, you ABSOLUTELY can have blood results in a matter of hours. In fact, you can have them in less than one hour. Emergency rooms nationwide consistently run tox screens 7 nights a week. And many patients going thru a psychotic breakthrough commonly appear to be "high" but are not. Educate yourself before you publicly comment on situations you no zero about.
Yup, I draw blood all the time at a hospital everything at a hospital is done 24hrs a day. People work around the clock at a hospital, sucks to work graveyard, but someone has to perform emergency surgery, draw blood, run lab test via machines & microscopes, and evaluate patients on a psych hold even in the middle of the night. Nurses, docs, lab techs, xray techs, surgeons, janitors, cafeteria workers, u have a hospital working 24hrs.
It's all a bullshit story. Why? Because there is a law out there called HIPAA, it WILL NOT ALLOW a medical facility or doctors to release any information regarding a patient to any member outside of the family and then only with written permission from either the family or Britney herself can they make any statements regarding her health or mental well being. They are allowed to make what are called "generalized statements and nothing more. If the hospital released any information to friends of Britney's, then they can be held liable for releasing private information on her. So anyone coming out and saying that she had no drugs in her system is just plain crap and all lies. So I do not believe anything coming from these so called sources as it is just damage control on their part.

Utox results which will give you a good idea of what type of drug (not specific as to which one category only) they are on come back within an hour if not less than that. Blood alcohol comes back a lot quicker. The results come back the same amount of time no matter what time of night it is. She was in the emergency department after all.. everything is STAT.

I work in a hospital lab that does tox screens. Almost always done on urine and not blood and it takes quite some time to perform the test. You aren't looking at a couple of hours. Same day sure but not hours… It isn't all CSI where they put a sample of something in some kind of universal machine and then get a result flashing up seconds later.
Sounds strange. Yeah results can come back that quick, but with the HIPAA Law in effect I find it extremely suspicious that that info was released. I am sure more details will emerge. Ms. Spears has made herself a public joke, she did that no one else but her. Now we're suppose to cut her a break and back off? It's a sad situation because children are involved and that is the only reason it is sad. She has a very obvious mental disorder as well as a substance abuse problem, the blackening of her nails which is in several upclose pics of her are from hitting a pipe of some sort, I've known several drug users and that is a major red light! Maybe she was trying to come off and went thru withdraws and flipped. Anything is possible. On the lighter side she is in a hospital where she is getting much needed medical treatment.

i have gone to two ultrasound appointments and they've taken my blood before each one and i have to wait in the waiting room till they have the results, then I can go forward with my ultrasound.

i'm a nurse- tox screens are readily run at all hours of the night.
They probably did get the lab results back in the middle of the night and within a couple of hours. I'm a Lab tech at a large Children's hospital in Ohio and we do Drugs of Abuse screens 24/7 and turnaround time for a STAT sample is 90 minutes. Now mind you, this is a screen and not a comphrensive assay, however, a large adult hospital in the area does comphrensives 24/7 and I'm sure their turn around time for STAT is probably within 2 hours. We use this hospital as a reference lab when doctors order comphrensive drug test.
Hmm, is right. If there is an urgency with any kind of blood work (being under the influence of drugs or suspicion of use) the hospital will rush the results. This is due to the patients safety and checking the toxic levels in their system.

okay people, no shit, blood tests can come back quickly but I know many of you are writing things without knowing anything about them. finding drugs in someone's system does not take an hour. To run some tests, sure, but that is not the end of it. Some substances are hard to find and take longer, Perez is just saying that its not possible to know that she wasn't on ANY drug at all. We are not talking about a simple blood level screening, which many of you are assuming. My Mom is a lab-tech. They do have a staff of lab-techs (people who test blood, stool and urine) at the hospital 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
I work in an ED, and we can get blood and urine tests back in less than 30 minutes (benzos, marijuana, opiates, meth, cocaine, aspirin, tylenol, tricyclic antidepressants, depakote..)

Yes, hospitals have labs that work 24/7 and drug tests come back very quickly. And, yes, drug tests usually look for prescription pills like Oxy-Contin and opiates.

I am a tirage nurse in a large hospital. We do drug test 24/7, the results in 30 minutes or less.
Labs are open 24 hours, and it only takes a couple hours at most to get blood tests back for drugs. AND they DO test for all drugs that would create such an altered state of consciousness.

Re: kristin – actually my mother the registered Medical Technologist who runs a hospital lab said that there are certain drug tests that can take 24-32 hours to be fully completed. certain tests can be rushed (and yes, you can get test results in the middle of the night, as hospital labs are fully staffed 24 hours), but there could be more test results coming back later.

the same thing happened to my sister actually. she had been off drugs for a little while, her tests were clean, she just mentally broke down.
