I love "Our Lady Peace". They're one of the most underrated bands. Congrats to Rain and his lady. Thanks for posting the update. And now I'm going to shower. It's amazing how many inbreds post here and on YouTube, and the sad fact is, 99% of them are American. How embarrassing for us.

She is not famous for the avril lavigne shit, get your head out of your ass. She writes for many artists. She does do covers which are huge in the US like leaving on a jetplane and feel like home, but she does them well. She does not steal. Raine Maida and Chantal Kreviazuk. Two Canadian musicians who have worked with musicians such as The Veronicas, Avril Lavigne and P!nk. They're both performers, singers/songwriters and producers.
Raine is in a band called Our Lady Peace and has been performing since the early '90's and Chantal is a solo artist who broke through in the '90's as well with her song "God Made Me."
Heard of Kelly Clarkson? Raine produced her song 'Walk Away', incase you don't read the liner notes of CDs. There is more to a song then just the performer.

Cutest kids in the world!!! I met them a year ago. And they are the nicest couple aswell. They performed a private concert for my friend who was in remission from leukemia last year in vancouver.
The strangest part about reading this today is that the cancer was rediscovered in july of this year and sadly she passed away today at BC Children's Hospital, 2 months away from her 18th birthday. What Raine and Chantal did for her and me and the other as her friends are unforgettable and I'm glad I'll always have that memory to hold on to.

Sorry for assuming you were an Avril fan. I just wanted you to understand that "making it" means different things to different people. For Chantal, she could have been scandalous and shook her booty on MTV and had other people write and produce her songs while she pretended. Then that music team would use her name as their brand. These pop stars are manufactured. But if you read about Chantal in interviews, her values are different. She has "made it" because she has true love in her husband, a happy family, she is a great mother, very intelligent, talented, kind, charitable, well-respected, down-to-earth lady. I respect Chantal as a person, so she has "made it" more than some manufactured no-talent, lying scum who will disappear one day, only to be known as a con.

Chantal was a piano prodigy before turning into a pop singer/songwriter. She was accomplished, had hits with "Surrounded", "Julia", "Weight of the World", "All I Can Do", "Ghost Stories", "Wonderful", "Leaving on a Jet Plane", "Feels Like Home". Listen to her piano-playing, songwriting, and singing talent. It will give you shivers. She purposely tries to stay low-key, and makes her living by writing for other pop star "names". Yes, those acts are mostly just walking "names" and "images" who lend their voices and want to be famous. But who does the real work, not the filming videos and interviews? Chantal and Raine.
If you research these two and what they have done, you will be stunned and delighted. Their music is meaningful and timeless, as well as good stuff to rock to.

Chantal was a professional songwriter/pianist/singer before she even met Raine. She worked with Jeff Buckley and others. True to her own sincere and honest spirit, she is a true talent. It's too bad she and Raine did so much work for Avril, but they didn't get their proper credit! They are very innocent and trusting people, but they needed to make a living to raise their family well.

I don't think WarChild would allow that! She taught aesthetics to the people there, so that they could have professional skills from which to make their living. I didn't know it was possible until Chantal did her charity work. I had always thought that throwing aid at other countries was wastefully going to the corrupt governments but not the people. Chantal and Raine really know about the charities that are close to their hearts. They write articles and pleas for help from fans who want to help. They have great philosophies on life and God.

Being a piano prodigy and highly-regarded singer/songwriter, I'm sure she did much more than that! She was probably hired to help out with a lot of stuff, since Gwen Stefani is not really considered to be talented in all those areas. She is a "pop star", with her name and image used to sell merchandise. But Gwen is in no way highly-regarded as some musical and writing talent. Same with Hilary Duff. And Avril. Sorry.

I think that learning how to be a great singer/pianist/songwriter is so much more work and discipline than strutting your stuff and acting rude, to look like a "pop star". People are so fooled by these monsters with glamorous images, putting on their hair extensions, make-up and outfits to act out the part of the icon that people will put on their pedestal. The "pop stars" pretend that they can sing when it's a team of people in the background making the music. They do this because many people are fooled. We need to support true artists like Chantal and Raine. Not the fake ones like Avril, whose videos and songs are full of corruption anyway.
